A trip to Vung Tau: Adventures, Humor and Serenity

Spread the love

If you’re looking for a one-day getaway that combines history, nature, and a touch of romance, Vung Tau offers the perfect escape. My recent trip to this coastal city was a whirlwind of experiences, from visiting the tranquil Song Vinh Church to camping under the stars at Ho Coc and savoring a mesmerizing sunset over the sea. Here’s how my days unfolded.

Morning: A Peaceful Start at Song Vinh Church

The day began with a visit to Song Vinh Church, which locates at

QL51 Tx, KP. SONG VĨNH P, Tân Thành, Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu, Vietnam

So, it was on the way we went to Vung Tau. This Song Vinh Catholic Church is a remarkable landmark located in Phu My, attracting both tourists and locals alike who seek a spiritual experience during weekends in the stunning coastal city of Vung Tau, Vietnam.

Constructed between 2011 and 2022, this breathtaking edifice showcases a striking architectural model in Gothic style – a design that not only represents artistic excellence but also reflects a historical period that flourished in the second half of the Middle Ages across Western Europe. The intricate details, soaring spires, and ornate elements of Gothic architecture evoke a sense of awe and reverence, drawing visitors to marvel at its beauty. Furthermore, the architectural influence of the Gothic style extends beyond its origins, with elements still resonating in contemporary constructions throughout the West. Thus, Song Vinh Church has emerged as a significant attraction for many tourists yearning to immerse themselves in its historical and cultural essence. Today, Song Vinh Church stands as a popular destination, where people come to capture the beauty of the structure through photography, while also engaging in moments of reflection and prayer, fostering a deep connection to spiritual traditions within the serene and picturesque surroundings.

Midday: Camping Adventures at Ho Coc

After leaving Song Vinh, I made my way to Ho Coc Beach, a secluded slice of paradise along the coast. Known for its pristine sand and clear waters, this spot was ideal for a camping adventure. There’re two types of tents: tent with/without air conditioner. I think it’s best to get the one with air conditioner. However, those are pretty limited. So, you may want to book early. There’re a few camping sites near Ho Coc. However, all air-conditioned tents are pretty fast to be gone, especially during weekend.

Ok, this is the opposite side of the sea. To be honest, during the night when I was sleeping, the waves made a lot of noise when they hit the shore. So, I forget to take their photos 🤭😂.

The funny thing is that the toilet near our tent was not functioning due to something with the tides. In the mean time, we forgot to bring food and drink into the camping site. So, a guy in our group texted the Facebook messenger the place: “The toilet is broken. It takes a long time to reach to the other toilet. Do you have any promotion or gift to make up for that 🥹? Some bottles of water should be great 😁😁”

And then, we received a message suggest calling the staffs at the counter. So, my friend asked again “So, does this mean you will give us some bottled water?” Then, he received the message, saying that “No, dear 🥰. Drinking more water will make you go to the toilet more often 😁”

In the end, it turned out that there were free drinking water at the counter, but the guy chose to crack jokes with us instead 😂.

Evening: Sunset Magic by the Sea

As the sun began its descent, I relocated to a cozy coffee shop perched right by the beach. The shop’s outdoor seating provided an uninterrupted view of the horizon, where the sky was painted in strokes of orange, pink, and gold.

Sipping on a refreshing iced latte, we watched as the waves gently kissed the shore. The combination of a good cup of coffee and a front-row seat to nature’s grand display made for an unforgettable moment.

If you’re planning a trip to Vung Tau, make sure to include Song Vinh Church, Ho Coc Beach, and a sunset coffee shop in your plans. Trust me, it’s a journey your heart and soul will thank you for.

The next day, we visited Bach Dinh – the former royal palace, which locate near the sea, the nearby museum, and a coffee shop near Chùa Khỉ (Monkey Temple). It was another memorizable day as well 😊.
